Range Calculation for 300 MHz to 1000 MHz Communication Systems
(22 pages, revision A, updated 01/09) This paper begins by introducing the Friis Transmission Equation and examining the terms comprising it. Then, real-world environmental factors which influence RF communication range and how they affect a "Link Budget" are investigated. Following that, some methods for optimizing RF-link range are given. Range-calculation spreadsheets, including the special case of RKE, are presented. |

ATAK5278-82 LF Wake-up Demonstrator Kit
(21 pages, revision B, updated 6/06) The demonstrator is offered to promote a LF wake-up channel, using the LF antenna driver ATA5278 and the 3D receiver ATA5282 (later ATA5790-EK2).
This tool may be helpful making reference measurements and for system analysis.
Typical wake-up applications can be found in vehicles for passive entry (PE) but also for waking up of battery-driven systems which normally stay in sleep mode.
