AVR Flash microcontrollers have up to six different sleep modes. This assures that between real-time events the better part of the AVR does not consume power while ensuring the fastest possible wake-up time even when using an external crystal. Software controlled frequency makes it possible to use maximum speed when needed, saving power the rest of the time.

High code density ensures that a minimum of instructions and clock cycles are needed to execute a task, thereby reducing the power consumption significantly.
